An educational day between eleventh grade students of the Colegio de Santander with young people who are taking the subject Citizen Ethics of the Law program was held on Wednesday at the UIS.
This space seeks a link between the institutions and motivate the next high school graduates to have among their options for higher education at the Universidad Industrial de Santander.
“What we want is to show what we do at the University to the students of the College of Santander so that they feel a sense of belonging that can help them to promote this love for study and academia to have the illusion of entering to study at the university,” said Estefanía Figueroa, professor of the School of Law and Political Science.

A total of about 60 students will participate in this initiative, which is being developed for the second consecutive year and in which higher education is integrated with secondary education.
“For me it is a very rewarding experience, it is something I had never experienced before and even more to know how the classes are at the university I want to enter next year. I feel that it is a great opportunity that the UIS gives us to live with university students and to know what the environment is like,” said Sara Sofía Villamizar Cadena, an eleventh grade student at the Colegio de Santander.
These activities show the university’s interest and commitment to comprehensive education, the formation of responsible citizens, capable of contributing to the development of their community and the country.
