The UIS was linked to the Copa Libertadores with the training of Colo Colo of Chile prior to their debut against Atletico Bucaramanga this Tuesday at 7:30 pm.
This team is one of the most important in America as it is the most champion in Chilean national leagues with 34, besides being the only team from that country to have won the Copa Libertadores.
The team coached by Jorge Almirón and led by the historic Arturo Vidal practiced for a few hours at the Primero de Marzo Stadium of the UIS, a venue that stands out for its excellent condition of the grass, first class dressing rooms and spacious locations for visitors.
“We would like to thank the University for giving us this space to work with our people, with our team in these wonderful facilities. The reception of the people is unusual from what you see in Copa Libertadores, because when you come with the rival team, usually the climate is hostile, here it is the opposite; we are facing a number of wonderful people who have come not only to encourage the team, but Arturo Vidal who is the attraction of our Club”, said José Daniel Morón, Colo Colo Colo’s sports manager.

“The UIS Stadium is very good, the grass is good, the dressing rooms are first class, we have been in many cities and it is one of the best we have seen, there are high quality standards and optimal conditions to receive us. Hopefully this is the opportunity for the UIS to receive many other teams that want to come here to train”, José Tomás Muñoz, control of Colo Colo’s Sports Management area.
The Primero de Marzo UIS Stadium has already hosted international events after receiving the Women’s National Team of Brazil and Argentina for the Copa America in 2022, as well as the teams Cerro Porteno and America de Cali in 2021 and Brazil U23 in the 2020 Pre-Olympic.
The Primero de Marzo Stadium field is 105 meters long and 68 meters wide, as required by the South American Football Confederation (Conmebol). The pitch stands out for its quality and good condition, in addition to two dressing rooms for 20 people, which stand out for their modern chairs, massage table, acrylic board for the coach to give tactical talks, bathrooms, refrigerator for hydration and food, air conditioning and other amenities.
