This event, organized by the Industrial University of Santander Alumni Association (ASEDUIS), will feature artistic, cultural, and athletic activities through Sunday, October 11, as well as opportunities for families to spend time together and support entrepreneurship.
“For this second edition of the UIS Alumni Festival, we wanted to offer you a family-friendly environment and a space to spend time with your friends and family. We have partnerships with companies that are offering us various workshops and activities. We have family-friendly areas, games, inflatable attractions, and a movie theater, among other offerings. All of these are family-focused, so that alumni have no excuse to stay home,” said Fabio Salah, president of the ASEDUIS Board of Directors.
Among the activities in this year’s festival, the entrepreneurship market—located at Casona La Perla—stands out, where UIS graduates offer their products to the public. For participants, this event represents an opportunity to raise awareness of their brands, network, and strengthen their business ventures.

“I feel that UIS has provided us with a really great opportunity, not only through this fair but also through programs like UIS Emprende. It’s a very comprehensive fair because it provides a space for entrepreneurs, and at the same time, we can enjoy many events, make connections, and strengthen our professional networks—which is very important, especially when we’re starting a business,” said Diego Rodríguez, a graduate of the UIS Ph.D. program in Chemistry and a representative of Haltiere.
Beyond the program, for many alumni, the Festival represents an opportunity to return to their alma mater, walk the campus again, see how it has changed, and reconnect with people and memories that shaped their college experience.

“I lived in Mexico for 15 years and in Bogotá for 22, so coming back to the University and seeing such beautiful things—like the gorgeous building they built for the Language Institute—is spectacular. Honestly, it’s a joy. Many of us are scattered around the world, juggling work and various other commitments, and I think this is a wonderful opportunity to return to the university and reconnect with people we haven’t seen in 20 or 30 years,” said Fernando Murillo, a UIS alumnus.
