At the Auditorio Jorge Zalamea on the campus central, as scheduled, the forum for the candidates running for faculty representation on the UIS Consejo Superior was held.
Professors Edga Mireya Uribe Salamanca and Nectalí Ariza Ariza presented their proposals, perspectives, and commitments to their fellow faculty members, in accordance with the order in which they registered. These are the commitments they would undertake should they receive the highest number of votes on Thursday, September 17.
After sharing with UIS faculty members the reasons why they decided to participate in this election process for representation on the Consejo Superior l, the candidates answered the questions raised and reiterated their invitation to take part in the election, emphasizing the importance of this university governing body.
“Faculty representation on the Consejo Superior is a space that we have earned through the university’s statutes and through national regulations, and that we must preserve as faculty members. Next week, on Thursday, September 17, you will have the opportunity to vote for your representative. Our representation allows us to have a voice and a vote in the university’s highest governing body, the Superior Council. This collegiate body makes very important decisions that, I would not say affect us, but certainly concern us and establish the regulations governing the university,” said Professor Uribe Salamanca.

What we do as professors is encompassed by a representation through which decisions can be made and influence can be exerted on university policies. Therefore, it is of paramount importance to participate in this process. My invitation to all faculty members is to vote on September 17.”
The election for faculty representation on the Consejo Superior will be held online next Thursday, September 17, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
