Following the conclusion of the registration period and verification of compliance with the requirements, the General Secretariat confirmed that professors Edga Mireya Uribe Salamanca and Nectalí Ariza Ariza are the candidates who will participate in the election process for the faculty representative to the Consejo Superior UIS.
It should be recalled that Resolution No. 985 of July 17, 2026 called for the election process, which will be conducted online on Thursday, September 17, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
According to the certifications issued by the División de Gestión de Talento Humano, the aforementioned candidates MEET the requirements established to run for the faculty representation before the University’s highest governing and decision-making body.
Likewise, the Secretaría General reminded the faculty that, between August 31 and September 11, 2026, activities will be held to disseminate the proposals presented by the registered candidates.
Once voting concludes, at approximately 4:06 p.m. on September 17, and following the vote count, the name of the new faculty representative to the Consejo Superior for the 2026–2028 term will be announced.
