Artificial Intelligence and Holistic Education: Transforming Teaching for the Future of UIS.
On July 22 and 23, the Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS) will host the “Pedagogical Innovation Day”, an academic event designed to inspire, strengthen, and transform teaching practices through the strategic use of Artificial Intelligence in higher education.
The event will take place at the Auditorio Luis A. Calvo as part of Misión Docencia UIS 2030, an institutional initiative that promotes innovation, pedagogical reflection, and the strengthening of holistic education across the University.
Throughout the event, faculty members will have the opportunity to learn about innovative experiences, methodologies, and tools that will enable them to integrate Artificial Intelligence into their teaching practices, enhancing student learning and addressing the challenges facing higher education in a context of continuous technological transformation.
Guest Speakers
Director of the Doctoral Program in Educational Innovation at the University of La Sabana. Specialist in Higher Education Teaching and Research, Master’s degree in Educational Technology, and Ph.D. in Education.
Master’s degree in Web Engineering with a specialization in Artificial Intelligence and a Master’s degree in Pedagogical Innovation and ICT Management from ICESI University. Founder of EdutekaLab and a nationally recognized leader in educational innovation and the integration of technology into teaching.
Under the theme Transforming Teaching for the Future of UIS,”the Pedagogical Innovation Day” will feature keynote lectures from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Auditorio Luis A. Calvo.
In the afternoon, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., participants will be able to attend hands-on workshops held in various locations across the main campus, where they will explore practical tools and strategies that can be directly applied to their teaching practice.
This event represents an opportunity to update knowledge, exchange experiences with colleagues and national experts, and strengthen the competencies required to lead teaching and learning processes aligned with the evolving dynamics of higher education.
Responding to the Challenges of Education
Misión Docencia UIS 2030 is a strategic initiative of the Universidad Industrial de Santander aimed at strengthening and transforming teaching practices in response to the contemporary challenges of higher education and the University’s institutional priorities.
The initiative emerged from an analysis of technological advances, new learning models, students’ evolving needs, and the social and global challenges that are reshaping university education.
Its purpose is to consolidate an innovative, student-centered approach to teaching that is committed to academic excellence, in alignment with the UIS21 Pedagogical Model and the University’s strategic vision for 2030.
All UIS faculty members are invited to actively participate in this academic event, which offers an excellent opportunity to strengthen their teaching practices, exchange experiences with experts and colleagues, and contribute to building a university that transforms education through innovation, excellence, and holistic education.
