In the framework of Gender Equity Month, the Visual Arts program of the Institute of Regional Projection and Distance Education IPRED-UIS invites the academic community to participate in the workshop entitled: Deconstructing stereotypes, décollage and gender equity”, which will be held next Thursday, March 20 at 12:00 noon at the Plazoleta Luis A. Calvo.

This workshop, designed by LaColetiva, seeks to provide a space for reflection on gender stereotypes present in the visual and communication media. Through the technique of décollage, participants will have the opportunity to physically dismantle these representations, re-signifying the images and constructing new narratives.

Participants will select images from magazines that reflect gender stereotypes, intervene them with a critical and creative approach, thus promoting a deep analysis of their meaning. This exercise will not only allow the reconstruction of traditional and limiting visions, but will also encourage artistic experimentation and reflective thinking.

The workshop is presented as an opportunity for all those interested in gender equity and social transformation through art, inviting the community to join in this discussion on how media influences our perceptions and behaviors. The invitation is open to all members of the academic community, who will be able to experience an innovative way to address and question contemporary gender stereotypes.
