The Animal Protection and Welfare Line of the Carlos Gaviria Legal Clinic of the School of Law and Political Science of the UIS, conducted the training aimed at officials of the Mayor’s Office of Floridablanca and the Inspectorate for the Protection of Life of the Mayor’s Office of Bucaramanga, and aimed to strengthen the knowledge and skills of municipal authorities on crucial issues related to animal welfare and protection.
During the training, fundamental aspects of responsible animal ownership were addressed and the legal implications of animal abuse were discussed, emphasizing the active role that officials must play in monitoring and regulating these issues. The School of Law and Political Science reaffirms its commitment to education and legal pedagogy as effective tools to guarantee the special protection of non-human sentient beings.
This initiative not only seeks to raise awareness among officials about the importance of animal protection, but also to foster a cultural change in society, promoting responsible pet ownership and respect for all living beings. The training represents an important step in building a safer and more ethical environment for animals in the region.
