On World Hearing Day, the Specialized Health Unit of the Universidad Industrial de Santander (UISALUD), reaffirms its commitment to the promotion of hearing health and invites the community to become aware of the importance of ear care and prevention of hearing loss.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), more than 60% of hearing problems can be detected and treated in primary care, which highlights the need to strengthen these services. In addition, projections indicate that by 2050, about 2.5 billion people in the world will be living with some degree of hearing loss.

Against this backdrop, the integration of hearing care into health services is key to ensuring accessible and timely care. The Unit calls on the university community to prioritize their hearing wellbeing and adopt preventive measures to preserve their quality of life.

As part of its commitment to health, UISALUD offers specialized care through the Routes of Health Promotion and Maintenance, where users can receive guidance and hearing evaluation. To access these services, appointments can be made with the nursing service by calling: 6340000 ext.: 4110 – 4102 – 4210 – 4101.
