Professors of the School of Health were recognized as “Meritorious Citizen, special category” by the Government of Santander

By decree 064 of the Government of Santander, the career of Professor Diana Katherine Sandoval Martinez, attached to the Department of Pathology of the School of Medicine, was recognized and exalted.

Her outstanding work at the Hospital Universitario de Santander, HUS, for 13 years, as a medical pathologist, has contributed decisively to the modernization and continuous improvement of the pathology service at the institution.

Thanks to her commitment to teaching and research, students of the postgraduate Specialization in Pathology have been able to perform their internships at the HUS, in the autopsy section, perinatal and placental medicine, strengthening the knowledge and practice in these areas of medicine.

During the event, the professor Carmen Elisa Jaimes Jaimes, attached to the School of Nutrition and Dietetics, was also recognized. The decree 065 of the Government of Santander, recognized as a meritorious citizen, special category, for the dedication of the last 20 years of service to the University Hospital of Santander, as well as in the training of new professionals in Nutrition and Dietetics of the UIS, transmitting knowledge and promoting values of excellence in hospital nutritional care.

Their work has been fundamental in the implementation of best practices and food safety protocols, ensuring that patients receive excellent care at every moment.
