With a suitcase full of dreams and the illusion of becoming a Zootechnician at the Universidad Industrial de Santander, Danna Stacy Kopp Robles started her journey from Valledupar to the municipality of Malaga, province of Garcia Rovira, department of Santander, to begin her studies in the Zootechnics program at the UIS Malaga campus.
For Danna, studying at UIS represents the opportunity to study at one of the best universities in the country. Despite the distance and leaving her loved ones behind, her excitement and happiness are infinite as she begins her university life to fulfill her dream of becoming a professional with the UIS seal.
“UIS is an excellent university and talking with my family I decided to enroll and I managed to be admitted. So far, I have found Malaga to be a welcoming place, as well as the administrative team and professors of the University,” says Danna.
The adaptation process in Malaga has been fast and without major difficulties for Danna. She rented a university quota and has adjusted to the contingency plan due to the construction of the new campus, where classes are taught in places such as the Industrial College, the Polytechnic College and the School of the old Polytechnic.
“I live near the airport and have the opportunity to observe the progress of the construction of the new Headquarters. It is very exciting to see how the construction is progressing and how impressive it will be,” Danna says enthusiastically.
Since she was a little girl, Danna has shown her love for the zootechnical program. She has family members in this profession and since she was a child, she remembers the trips to farms and the love for animals and their welfare.
Being responsible with her studies and maintaining a good performance in the different academic processes is the main challenge Danna faces in her university career.
Like Danna, there are hundreds of students who began their undergraduate studies at the UIS Malaga campus, coming from various regions of the country such as Arauca, Cesar, Ibagué, Boyacá, Norte de Santander, Bogotá, among others.
