The market engineer Alejandro Almeyda Camargo and the industrial engineering student Nicolás David Serrano, were sworn in as new members of the UIS Superior Council as representatives of the productive sector of Santander and of the Students, respectively.
Alejandro Almeida is the executive director of Fenalco Santander and after being elected by the department’s union leaders on November 7, he assumes again this representation for a period of 2 years. It is worth mentioning that this is the second time that Almeyda occupies this position as spokesman of the productive sector in the highest university management and government body.
Meanwhile, Nicolás David Serrano Güiza assumes the representation of the UIS Students before the Superior Council for the period 2024 – 2026 after obtaining the majority of the votes in the elections held on November 13. The new councilor was previously the student representative of the Faculty of Physical and Mechanical Engineering.
In this ordinary session, which corresponds to the last work meeting scheduled for the 2024 term, the arrival of the political scientist Juan Carlos Bolívar to the Superior Council was also made official, who is now the new representative of the Minister of Education José Daniel Rojas Medellín.
With a positive balance of the directive management, the University’s Superior Councilors culminate in this session their work agenda for 2024; there they submit for study and approval some very important draft agreements such as the Institutional Management Program 2025, the personnel plant and the General Budget of Income and Expenditures of the University, established at $556,378 million for the next term.
