The official closing of the U24 Fest ‘Ideas to protect life’ took place with the concert of the Symphonic Band of the UIS School Foundation.
Under the direction of maestro Camilo Andrés Olarte Pachón, the group, which is made up of students from fourth to eleventh grade and has almost 20 years of experience training young musical talents, performed.
The U24 Fest took place this week at the Universidad Industrial de Santander and inspired, educated and motivated the entire academic community to take concrete actions to protect and improve life in all its dimensions.
“The balance is highly positive, there was massive participation, enthusiasm, joy, with a broad and varied agenda. I want to thank everyone for their participation and especially the wonderful team of volunteers we had,” said Johann Farith Petit Suárez, dean of the Faculty of Physical and Mechanical Engineering.
Open science, sustainable wave, culture and love were the axes on which the activities proposed for the event were focused.
Workshops, lectures, exercises focused on mental health and scientific and cultural events, such as the concert of the Santander Symphonic Band in the Luis A. Calvo auditorium, were the highlights of the event.
“The U24 Fest allows these spaces to unburden the academic load and give an extra touch to our emotions, which is really important in our university life,” said Carol García Camargo, a tenth semester student of the Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Basic Education.
This year, the Faculty of Human Sciences together with the Faculty of Physicomechanics and Physicochemistry organized the event, which has become an emblem of the Universidad Industrial de Santander.
