The UIS Barrancabermeja Campus opened its doors to receive more than 500 eleventh grade students from official schools in the oil port to present the university’s educational offerings both at the main campus and the regional headquarters. As part of the event, different academic and informative talks were held in which teachers from UIS schools presented the programs and their respective fields of application at the professional level.

Camilo Londoño, Director of Admissions and Academic Registration of the Universidad Industrial de Santander, said the following about the event: “The fair was born from the awareness that the university has at the time of providing young people with the foundations and tools to build their professional profile. Therefore, thanks to the integration we achieved with the different schools and the Institute of Regional Projection and Distance Education (IPRED), we leave students with a solid foundation now that they are about to start their university career and we show them how the different programs of the UIS contribute to the development of the country and the regions where we are present”.

At the fair, which was held with the support of the Secretary of Education of the District of Barrancabermeja, students also had the opportunity to learn about the facilities that the UIS Barrancabermeja campus has for the professional, academic and personal development of students. They also experienced the university environment and interacted with students from the different undergraduate programs.

“We are very grateful with the fair held by the Universidad Industrial de Santander because it allowed students to have an approach to the university environment and learn about the benefits they can access if they decide to study at the UIS,” said Jaime Muley, a teacher at the San Rafael de Chucurí Educational Institution, who was very grateful for the invitation and the support provided by the university to attend, since the school is located an hour and a half from the urban center of the district of Barrancabermeja and the opportunities to access this type of event is quite low.

This type of academic events ratify the commitment of the Universidad Industrial de Santander through its regional offices, in this case the one in Barrancabermeja, to contribute and contribute to the economic and social development of young people.
