The female administrative employees and professors had a special afternoon during the Women’s Day commemoration at Universidad Industrial de Santander.

Actress Alejandra Borrero presented her play ‘Ni con el pétalo de una rosa’ for the enjoyment of the attendees, who also celebrated with a musical show.

“It is a delight to be at UIS, I thank the university for doing these kinds of events because women deserve to be celebrated in another way, before they played us some rancheras that speak horrors of women, and at this time, we do other types of work that are very important. So, I am grateful for this invitation,” said Borrero.

During the event, the work that women carry out day-to-day in the institution was valued as it enhances the name of the university in every area.

“I thought it was spectacular. The guest Alejandra Borrero invited us to reflect. It was a time to become aware and identify types of violence and act if necessary. The musical guests had a different proposal to connect us in a different way as women representing women. What I liked most was the fact of being together as colleagues and giving each other a hug to recognize and remember how valuable we are,” said Diana Barragan, a professional at the Institute of Regional Projection and Distance Education (Ipred).

Solan Anjeline Cadena Díaz, a professional from the Communications Department, agrees with this, saying that “the event was a significant moment because it is nice to share with the women of the University and to have brought a message through Alejandra Borrero is important because it emphasizes the fact of respecting and valuing ourselves. And the second part was very good because I did not expect the staging and it is certainly something different from what has been shown in previous years.

During the commemoration, the UIS women enjoyed a musical performance by Leonardo Pilonieta’s Kerigma Choir.
The activity took place at the Luis A. Calvo auditorium, the main campus of the Universidad Industrial de Santander.
