UIS to host AstroFest 2024

The Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS) will host AstroFest 2024. The meeting is organized by the Halley UIS Group, the main organizer, this event will include two international congresses and a national congress in various areas of astronomy and astrophysics. The agenda includes various activities, meetings and lectures.

The third Julio Garavito International Meeting will be held from November 13 to 15. This event will address astrophysics, relativistic astronomy, astronomy, cosmology, solar physics, among others. This congress will include sessions on compact stars, black holes, active nuclei of galaxies and high energy phenomena.

The first Meeting of the Iberoamerican Network CyTED LAGO INDICA will be held November 18-20.
Focused on astroparticles, this event seeks to consolidate the continental scientific community around the LAGO-INDICA project, dedicated to cosmic ray studies, meteorology and new initiatives in muography. Organized by the Giant Latin American Observatory (LAGO), with support from the Relativity and Gravitation Research Group (GIRG).

From November 20 to 22 will be the Colombian Congress of Astronomy and Astrophysics, CoCoA2024.

The eighth edition of COCOA, the largest national congress on astronomy, will be held at the Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS), coinciding with the 40th anniversary of the UIS Halley Group. This event will bring together the national astronomical community around the central theme: “Building a country from astronomy”.The scientific program will include key topics such as galaxies and cosmology, astronomy education, stellar astrophysics, instrumentation in astronomy, astroparticles, solar system and solar astrophysics.
