The External Relations Office of the Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS) invites students to enroll in the Emerging Leaders in the Americas Program (ELAP), a Canadian government initiative that seeks to foster leadership, academic cooperation and cultural exchange between Canada and the Americas. This program prioritizes areas such as sustainable development, engineering, public health and education. Applications will be open until Tuesday, March 18.

The ELAP program offers scholarships for short studies or research at Canadian post-secondary institutions for a period of four to six months. Benefits include:

  • Round-trip airfare.
  • Monthly living allowance.
  • Medical insurance during the stay.
  • Tuition coverage by the Canadian institution, if applicable.

Who can apply?

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a citizen of an eligible Latin American or Caribbean country.
  • Be enrolled full time in a university in their home country.
  • Not have Canadian citizenship or residency.
  • Not be enrolled in a Canadian educational institution.

To apply, it is essential to approach the UIS External Relations Office, from where the application will be processed with the Canadian government. The results will be published in an estimated period of four to six months.
