Basketball 3×3, field tennis, chess and the women’s basketball and soccer teams will participate in the final week of the Zonal phase of the Ascun University Games.
The first to debut will be the women’s basketball team when it faces the Santander Technological Units (UTS) on Thursday, April 24 at 8:00 p.m. at the UIS Coliseum. The winning team qualifies directly to the National Championship in Bucaramanga and the loser will go to the Regional Championship in Tunja.
The same match will take place on Friday, April 25 at noon but in women’s soccer. The match will be played at the Primero de Marzo Stadium and the winner will go to the National Championship and the loser to Tunja.
The Chess National Team will compete on 25, 26 and 27 in the Santander Chess League and the qualifiers for the different phases will be announced there. On the same days, the Field Tennis Selection will have action at the Tennis Pro facilities, located in Ruitoque Bajo.
In 3×3 basketball, UIS will play with two men’s teams, who will debut on Friday at 6:20 p. m. and at 9:20 in the coliseum of the central campus. The program will continue on Saturday throughout the morning.
The Zonal phase of the Ascun University Games began this month and the UIS has already qualified for the National and Regional, standing out in men’s soccer, women’s indoor soccer, men’s Frisbee, sand volleyball, table tennis, among other disciplines.
