Within the program of the U24 Fest is ‘South of the South’, a scientific and artistic experience of Antarctica led by Professor Julian Rodriguez Ferreira, who has represented the UIS twice during the Colombian Expedition to the ‘white continent’.

According to Rodríguez Ferreira here he exposes his scientific and artistic experience of Antarctica “which I have prepared with much affection with support from U24/Library UIS”.

“It includes my first photographic exhibition, the presentation on screens and augmented reality glasses, of videos that I have made in my two Antarctic expeditions,” said Rodriguez Ferreira.

Every day at 10:00 a.m. there will be talks by Antarctic scientists and scientific explorers who have been invited to the UIS.

“Central to the exhibition is the launch of a collection of more than 100 books in various literary genres that I have curated for the central library of the UIS a large part in digital format for download. Of course, there are also life-size penguins for you to take pictures,” says Rodriguez Ferreira.

The exhibition is located in the Thematic Cultural Hall in the entrance hall of the UIS Central Library, where you will find photographs, augmented reality and books about this part of the planet.
