The PROINAPSA UIS Institute, Collaborating Center of the World Health Organization – WHO, through its director, Blanca Patricia Mantilla Uribe, participated in the webinar: Strategies for implementing Health Education in different environments in Latin America. This event, organized by the Unesco Chair Global Health & Education, brought together experts in the field of health and education from different countries, with the aim of reviewing and analyzing the strategies implemented in Latin America, which have been promoting a transdisciplinary and dialogic vision of Health Education.

During her speech, the Director highlighted, based on the 39 years of experience of Proinapsa UIS, the importance of intersectoral work, especially between the health and education sectors, for the strengthening of health promotion in the school environment. He stressed the need to generate learning spaces that integrate academic and community knowledge, fostering critical thinking and active participation, ensuring healthy and equitable learning environments that involve the participation of communities in the transformation of their own living conditions.

The webinar also included the participation of experts in the field of health education and promotion, among them Magister Patricia Isabel Zamora Valdés from the Ministry of Health of Chile; Professor Hayda Alves from the Federal Fluminense University – UFF of Rio de Janeiro; and Professor Martín Zemel from the FASTA University of Mar del Plata, Argentina; who shared experiences and reflections on the strengths and opportunities of Health Education in Latin America.

Thus, PROINAPSA UIS reaffirms its commitment to the promotion of an inclusive, participatory and equity-based health education that responds to the real needs of communities and contributes to the integral wellbeing of communities in Latin America.
