PhD student to be awarded at the first edition of the “Women and Power Awards” in Cordoba, Spain

The city of Cordoba, Spain, will host the first edition of the “Women and Power Awards”, an event organized by the Women and Power Association, in collaboration with the Provincial Council of Cordoba and the University of Cordoba. This recognition aims to highlight and make visible female talent in various disciplines, such as science, culture, sports, innovation and entrepreneurship.

The ceremony will take place at the Palacio de la Merced, in Córdoba, Spain, where 15 women and two organizations will receive awards for their impact on Andalusian society. Betsy Yaneth Muñoz, a PhD student in Biomedical Sciences at the Faculty of Health of the UIS, will receive the award in the category of entrepreneurship. Currently, Betsy Yaneth Muñoz is pursuing a doctorate with a double degree between the UIS and the University of Cordoba in Spain, under the tutelage of Professor Patricia Escobar, attached to the Department of Basic Sciences.

The Women and Power Awards seek to consolidate itself as a platform for female empowerment, promoting equal opportunities and highlighting the fundamental role of women in social development. In addition, the event aims to inspire new generations and strengthen the recognition of female leadership in all sectors.
