This year was the ninth edition of the Month of Women and Girls in Science, with a variety of activities, including workshops, lectures and discussions. The objective of this activity was to highlight and make visible the work of women dedicated to research and work in the STEM areas (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).
The event “A date with science”, held on Friday, February 28 at the UIS Guatiguará Technology Park, was structured by the organizing committee of the Month of Women and Girls in Science, led by biologists and Master’s students in Microbiology at the Universidad Industrial de Santander, Lizeth Carolina Vargas Núñez and Diana Sánchez Lobo. Also, students from different faculties of the UIS supported the logistics and led the route in the visit to the laboratories of the PTG.
In this event, female students of tenth and eleventh grade from different rural public institutions of the municipality of Piedecuesta participated.
