With the purpose of conducting the external evaluation and socializing the results of the self-evaluation process, in view of the Institutional Accreditation Renewal, a group of academic peers, delegated by the National Accreditation Council, were at the Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS), on February 23rd, 24th and 25th.
Institutional mission, academic processes, regional, national and international visibility, research, self-evaluation and self-regulation processes, institutional welfare, administrative and financial management, academic and financial resources, extension and Guatiguará Technology Park, were the factors studied by the academic peers during their visit.
“Every day we are closer to reaching this new goal that, as a university community, we set out to achieve in our commitment to excellence, high quality and continuous improvement,” said UIS Rector Hernán Porras Díaz. He also thanked the UIS community and citizens in general for their strong support in this process.
In addition, the academic peers made a detailed tour of the central campus, the Faculty of Health and the Guatiguará Technology Park, to learn about its infrastructure, as well as the programs and processes that are developed there.
Once the internal consistency of the external evaluation report has been reviewed by a CNA advisor, the report will be sent to the University after the peer’s visit, which will make its observations on it. This is a technical and academic concept based on the institution’s self-evaluation.
This technical concept includes a recommendation on the duration of the accreditation, which may be 4, 6, 8 or the maximum of 10 years. Finally, the concept is transferred to the Ministerio de Educación Nacional for the issuance of the Resolution for the renewal of accreditation. Let’s go for the renewal… Together we make it possible.
