The Aula Máxima Auditorium of the Industrial University of Santander (UIS), Barrancabermeja campus, served as the venue for the XV Corporate Assembly of the Regional Autonomous Corporation of the Magdalena River (CORMAGDALENA). The event brought together the General Assembly of the national government agency responsible for ensuring the protection and sustainability of the country’s main river, composed of the mayors of the municipalities from the lower, upper, and middle basin of the Magdalena River.
Andrés Montes, coordinator of the UIS Barrancabermeja campus, emphasized the significance of hosting such events, noting that they not only strengthen the university’s role as an academic and cultural hub in the Magdalena Medio region but also foster closer ties with government entities and enhance its contribution to sustainable development.
For his part, the General Director of CORMAGDALENA, Álvaro Redondo, thanked UIS for opening its doors: “We are deeply grateful to the Industrial University of Santander for welcoming us. There couldn’t have been a better place to hold our assembly, considering what the university represents for the country, both for its academic contributions and for its role in strengthening the economic and social fabric of this region,” he stated.
