After a detailed analysis of the resumes of the eight candidates who applied for the position of Rector of the University for the period 2022 – 2025, five of them met the requirements and will continue in the process, informed the General Secretariat to the Academic Council, during an extraordinary session held on February 15th.
According to the Academic Council, in its capacity as Credentials Committee, based on the information provided at the time of registration, it proceeded to verify compliance with the minimum requirements and qualities demanded of the candidates to occupy the position in question, as well as to evaluate their academic merits.
In this regard, the Board approved the issuance of credentials to continue to the following candidates: Hernán Porras Díaz, Héctor Alirio Méndez Sánchez, Édgar Giovanni Rodríguez Cuberos, Wilman Norberto Amaya León and Juan Carlos Reyes Nova.
Among the requirements were:
To be a Colombian citizen in exercise.
Possess a university degree valid in the country.
Have had direct links with the university sector, either as a professor, researcher, in management positions or have participated in its management bodies for a period of no less than two years.
Have at least five years of professional experience as a university professor, in the productive sector or in public service.
Demonstrate contributions to science, technology, culture or social development.
From February 17 to 22, 2022, claims to the published list of candidates for the position of Rector will be received, and on February 24, 2022, a response to the claims will be given and the final list of candidates will be published.
