The School of Music of the Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS) is the venue for the V Encuentro de Investigación en Música, an event that seeks to promote the dissemination and reflection on the processes of management, research, innovation and artistic creation in the country’s music schools. This year, the meeting will be held in two days, October 24 and 25, with the participation of distinguished speakers from different departments of Colombia.
Among the speakers, the presence of music teacher Jadín Charría, who represents the Indigenous Council of Tacueyo, in the department of Cauca and is a professor at the Universidad del Valle, stands out. In addition, professors from renowned universities such as Felipe Duque, from the University of Antioquia, and Albeiro Ortiz, from the University of Nariño, among others, will also be present.
Ana María Arrieta, a participant in the event, commented that it has been “incredible and important for the amount of information and tools that the participants acquire for their professional, research and teaching development”. For his part, Jadín Charría underscored the relevance of these meetings by pointing out that “this type of event stimulates music students to strengthen their research and creative capacities, because interacting with other thoughts helps to strengthen the way we access and produce musical knowledge”.
