The Board of Directors and members of the Consejo Rector of the Fundación para el Desarrollo of the Universidad Industrial de Santander (Fundeuis) met on Wednesday in the Rector’s Council Room of the University with the objective of modifying some statutes in order for the UIS to become a partner of Fundeuis.

This new scenario means great progress for the University since after 50 years it is invited to be part of the foundation in a more active way. “We are pleased, we just had a Board of Directors of Fundeuis where the statutes were approved in a reform where they approved the importance of the rector of the University to be an active part of the foundation and not only of the foundation but also of the Consejo Superior, Consejo de Directores and the Junta de Directores, This makes us very happy because this is key to the success of the foundation for the good development of the Universidad Industrial de Santander, for which it was created”, says Cecilia Reyes de León, member of the Board of Directors of Fundeuis.

One of the objectives of this new association is to ensure that through the University, interesting projects operated by the foundation can be created and managed in favor of both institutions.

This new association represents great support for the foundation, which was going through a critical situation, and the support that the university will now provide is definitive for the foundation to move forward. “We will be doing all the work together, be it projects, audits, or different actions that Fundeuis does will now be shared with the university. This pleases and relieves us enormously, ” commented Germán Arturo Fiallo Puerto, member of Fundeuis’ Board of Trustees.
