Paidópolis: a learning and sharing experience

Grupos de instituciones de educación básica en la sede UIS Bucarica-Paidópolis
The UIS Bucarica headquarters received the producers of the Paidópolis program, which this time had two groups recording.

An opportunity to share tastes and knowledge was given during the recording day developed by the radio program Paidópolis, which received two groups of radio actors-children, teachers and parents from the educational institutions Santa María Goretti B, of Bucaramanga and the Rural Educational Institution San Miguel del Tigre, of Yondó-Antioquia.

The members of the fifth grade and their teachers attended for the first time to the facilities of the UIS Bucarica headquarters to advance the last step of the process that is carried out with each of the programs that are carried out in this edu-communicative project led by Professor César Roa, director of the UIS School of Education, supported by the students in practice of the degrees in Primary Basic Education and Literature and Spanish Language, to bring the radio to the School.

From the other side of the Magdalena River, accompanied by their teachers and mothers, 10 students from the fifth grade of the San Miguel del Tigre Rural Educational Institution, traveled the 3-hour journey with all the excitement and expectation of some to leave the village for the first time, others to know the capital of the Department of Santander and all to live the moment of being in the UIS AM booth.

Paidópolis is a significant learning experience that, for the members of the different institutions, represents challenges and opportunities. Helga Rocío Moreno Collantes, teacher of Humanities – Spanish Language at the San Miguel del Tigre Rural Educational Institution, said that for them “Reading and writing through the radio has been a very important significant experience because Paidópolis has shown us that we can research, write, rewrite and read aloud, with pleasure, desire and desire to do so and this has motivated a lot of communication skills in our students that we had not previously been able to develop with them in a playful way”.

The students of the San Miguel del Tigre Rural School shared their experience of this visit; Isabella Martínez Ospina: “I think it was very good, I was nervous, I liked this experience and I would like to come back”.

For his part, Juan Felipe Galindo Castillo, a fifth grade classmate, said that “this experience was very interesting, it is the first time I record and I am very excited”.

In this meeting they were welcomed by the students of grade 5-2 of the B branch of the Santa María Goretti Educational Institution of Bucaramanga, who were pleased to welcome them and also participated for the first time in the Paidópolis experience as producers.

Juliana Martinez Forero, a teacher of grade 5-2, seat B of the Santa Maria Goretti School of Bucaramanga, said that “it has been a very nice experience from the construction of the script, the initial research, the students are excited because it is the first time they do this kind of activities; for them it is new to leave school and see other different faces, and having the experience in the booth has been very enriching and learning. I hope this experience continues, I congratulate the institution for the contribution they give to the schools that participate in this activity and we will continue to support them”.

They will all wait for Thursday, when the program that corresponded to them will be broadcast on 670 kHz, UIS AM, La Nueva Radio and on emisoras.uis.edu.co and thus close this cycle that brought them a little closer to radio production.
