Fifth session: sports and city construction, scenarios and practices

This week, the Low Maus Lecture 2021-2 Chair restarts its activities with the development of its fifth session. This coming Thursday, January 13th, starting at 3 p.m., the relationship between sport and the construction of the city during the 20th century. The guests on this occasion are Víctor Manuel Peña Melo and Raúl Mauricio Prada Solano, two graduates of the School of History who have carried out professional historical research on these issues.
In this session, the historical emergence of the main sports practices in Bucaramanga will be recognized, focusing particularly on soccer, as well as the configuration of scenarios and infrastructure for its development, including stadiums, sports units, and everyday spaces.
This lecture will be held in-person for the university community at the Ágora Auditorium of the Faculty of Human Sciences. In addition, it will have virtual transmission for the general public through the institutional Facebook page www.facebook.com/uisenlinea
