On January 22, 2025, the secretary’s office of the School of Petroleum Engineering received a call informing about the improper use of the School’s name to carry out scams related to training for job calls.
According to the information reported, the Computrabajo platform is being used to disseminate fraudulent calls in which, supposedly, the company Ecopetrol directs interested parties to the School of Petroleum Engineering of the UIS to take a course that would be a requirement to access employment.
In addition, a WhatsApp number is provided that is presented as belonging to the School; however, this number does not correspond to any official or official unit of the same.
Through said WhatsApp number, applicants are requested to pay a sum of money for the issuance of a certificate that would allow them to meet the alleged requirements of the job.
