The initiative of nursing student Elisa María Marulanda Moreno, who is currently developing her clinical practice in Bienestar Estudiantil through the Programa Docente Asistencial (PDA), was the incentive that prompted the organization of a day of free cytology tests without appointment for the students of this house of studies.
Promoting the use of condoms as the main barrier method to eliminate the Human Papilloma Virus, HPV, the main cause of cervical cancer, is the main objective of the prevention day.
Students interested in getting a Pap smear can come to the central campus, Bienestar Estudiantil, this Friday, January 28, from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. or to the Faculty of Health, Bienestar Estudiantil, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Each student will receive the results of the sample collection 20 days later personally at the facilities where the test was performed. In turn, the processing of the samples will be done at the Department of Pathology of the School of Medicine. Remember that you don’t need to make an appointment, we are waiting for you!
