A special day of appointments for the issuance of passports was successfully carried out at the Barrancabermeja Campus of the Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS). The activity, organized by the Government of Santander, allowed members of the academic community and their families to manage this important procedure quickly and free of charge.

The activity took place at the facilities of the Alejandro Galvis Galvis Public Library, between 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. More than 50 people took advantage of this opportunity to quickly schedule their mandatory appointments, an essential requirement to formalize the passport issuance process.

Yerson Rojas, a first-semester student, expressed his satisfaction with the event: “I thought it was an excellent initiative because it prevented us from having to travel to Bucaramanga just to schedule the appointment. In addition, the process was very fast and organized”.

For his part, Ariel Patiño, a graduate of the UIS, said that it is very important that the Government and the university work together to develop these activities because it facilitates the process of obtaining the passport, especially because sometimes it is difficult to travel to the capital of the department due to lack of time. In this way, without a doubt, they provide essential support to obtain a document that is essential to be able to travel to other parts of the world.

Beneficiaries who scheduled their appointment during the day can go to the Passport Office of the Government of Santander, located in the basement of the Cacique Shopping Center, starting on Monday, December 2.

“This initiative reflects the commitment of the UIS and the Government of Santander to bring essential services to the community, facilitating administrative processes that contribute to the welfare of the community,” said Mario Betancourt, representative of the graduates to the Superior Council.
