The School of Chemical Engineering of the Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS) received the visit of PhD. Paúl Palmay, Director of the Chemical Engineering Program of the Escuela Superior Politécnica de Chimborazo (ESPOCH), accompanied by two outstanding students of the Ecuadorian institution. This visit took place within the framework of the activation of the agreement signed between both universities last August, and establishes the basis for academic and scientific collaboration to strengthen internationalization and regional development.
During his stay, Dr. Palmay held strategic meetings with representatives of different UIS departments. These conversations focused on the consolidation of cooperation between the two universities, allowing the definition of new strategies for joint work on research projects in common areas. Likewise, opportunities were explored for the programming of mirror classes, face-to-face and virtual exchanges, as well as other activities that promote internationalization and the development of innovative initiatives for mutual benefit.
Students Nicolay Portalanza and Mateo Vargas played an active role during this visit. They participated in various academic activities at the central campus and conducted laboratory tests at the Guatiguará Technology Park, related to their research project in catalysis. These experiences not only enrich their academic training, but also promote the exchange of knowledge between both institutions.
This cooperation is part of the commitment of the UIS and ESPOCH with the generation of knowledge that transcends borders, contributing to the progress of their communities. The UIS thus reaffirms its mission to be a bridge for international cooperation, celebrating this important step towards future joint projects focused on sustainable development and innovation.
It is expected that this collaboration will not only benefit the institutions involved, but will also boost the advancement of chemical engineering and science in the region, opening new possibilities for joint research and learning.
