Maria Camila Velandia Gélvez, a ninth semester student of the Bachelor’s Degree in Music at the Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS), participated with the project “Clase de Solfeo UIS: website de aprendizaje musical”, in the Latin American Science Expo ESI AMLAT 2024, an event that took place from November 25 to 29 at the Palacio de la Unión in Lima, Peru.
This important event brought together young scientists from all over Latin America, who presented their innovative and scientific projects. For five days, Velandia Gélvez not only represented the UIS, but also Colombia, standing out for his commitment and dedication in the scientific field. This allowed her to obtain an invitation to participate in the 16th version of FoCiTeCu in Argentina, 2025.
In addition, Maria Camila was named as a Young Ambassador of Science, for her innovative and creative ideas, which allowed her to participate in the YCC program, thus evidencing the impact of her participation in the event. “I want to thank the UIS that made my participation possible and invite all students to participate in academic and scientific events for the dissemination of research, and see in them personal and professional opportunities,” said Velandia Gélvez, highlighting the importance of research in personal and professional development.
This achievement not only highlights the talent of UIS students, but also highlights the fundamental role of education in promoting research and innovation in the region. The Universidad Industrial de Santander continues to support its students in the search for new opportunities that contribute to the advancement of scientific knowledge in Colombia and Latin America.
